The Flu Vaccination and its Importance: A Doctor’s Perspective

During last year’s flu season 93 percent
of adults hospitalized for the flu reported at least one underlying medical
condition that placed them at high risk for complications. The flu vaccine is a
protective tool against influenza and it is an essential health management step
for people living with diabetes, heart disease and lung disease. The American
Lung Association is proud to collaborate with the American Heart Association and
the American Diabetes Association to urge the 117 million adults living with
chronic disease to prioritize getting their flu shot this year. Learn more
